New Delhi. RJD supremo and former Bihar CM and former Railway Minister Lalu Yadav has been given a big blow by the Supreme Court on Wednesday. Lalu Yadav had filed an application in the Supreme Court and appealed to stop the trial court taking cognizance of the allegations in the case of job in exchange for land. The Supreme Court refused to stay the proceedings in the trial court. The Supreme Court dismissed Lalu’s petition and said that his petition is pending in the Delhi High Court.
Lalu Yadav’s lawyer Mudit Gupta filed a petition in the Supreme Court. In the petition filed by Lalu, it was appealed that the trial court should be ordered to be postponed by 12 August. According to Live Law, Justice MM Sundresh and Justice N. After hearing Lalu’s plea, a bench of Kotishwar Singh said that the charges are decided by the trial court in the case of giving jobs in lieu of land. The Supreme Court said that if the charges against Lalu are framed in the trial court, then it will not affect the petition filed in the Delhi High Court.
Opposing Lalu Yadav’s plea, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju said in the Supreme Court that he can challenge in the trial court on the basis that the CBI did not take approval in advance to run a case against him under Section 17A of the Anti -Corruption Act. SV Raju told the Supreme Court that Lalu Yadav should be fined. Earlier on July 18, the Supreme Court rejected Lalu Yadav’s petition to ban the trial in case of giving jobs in lieu of land.
