New Delhi. While hearing the air pollution case in Delhi, the Supreme Court ordered that the restrictions of GRAP 4, except schools, will remain in force till Monday 2 December. Schools will currently run on hybrid mode. At the same time, the court has asked CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) to organize a meeting and give suggestions regarding restrictions related to GRAP 4. The Supreme Court asked whether there could be a return to GRAP 3 or GRAP 2. The Supreme Court, quoting a news report, said that in order to avoid satellite monitoring of stubble burning incidents in Punjab, the authorities are allowing farmers to burn stubble after 4 pm. The Supreme Court said that if this report is true then it is a very serious matter.

The Supreme Court says state authorities cannot advise farmers to take advantage of the fact that currently activities occurring during certain hours of the day are being detected. Along with this, the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab has been asked to immediately advise all the officers not to get involved in such activities. The Supreme Court said that we want to find a permanent solution to this serious issue and also want to strictly implement the ban on farmers burning stubble.
The court said that we will take a decision on the ban on firecrackers not only during Diwali, but also during weddings, wedding processions and throughout the year.
