A fine of Rs 35,000 has been imposed on food delivery app Swiggy. According to the information received, this decision has been taken after a complaint was lodged by a customer in Hyderabad. This complaint was lodged by a ‘Swiggy One membership’ customer in Hyderabad.
Was angry with the change in delivery charge
According to the information received, Emmadi Suresh Babu had taken ‘Swiggy One membership’ from Swiggy in which free delivery service is provided up to some distance. The victim told that on November 1, he had placed the order on Swiggy. The victim says that he has been cheated.
During this period, Swiggy has increased the distance from 9.7 kilometers to 14 kilometers. Due to this the victim had to pay ₹103 delivery fee. Then he got upset and lodged a complaint with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. The Commission has imposed a fine of ₹350.48 on Swiggy along with 9% interest after which the customer has been fined ₹35,000.
