Monkey Pox
Monkeypox has also arrived in India. According to the Health Ministry, recently a (male) patient has come to India, who was in a country where monkeypox disease is prevalent. Due to symptoms like monkeypox, the patient has been kept in isolation. Currently, tests are being conducted and all kinds of investigations are being done. The patient has been kept in isolation in a designated hospital and his condition is currently stable.
Samples have been taken from the patient to confirm the presence of mumps. The case is being handled as per established protocols and contact tracing is underway to identify possible sources and assess its impact within the country. The state and country from which the patient has come or the people he has met after coming to India has not been disclosed.
Monkey pox terror in more than 70 countries
Ampox or monkeypox spread from Africa and has now spread to more than 70 countries of the world. Hundreds of people have lost their lives due to monkeypox so far. Due to this danger, the World Health Organization (WHO) held a meeting and declared an emergency situation. WHO has declared monkeypox a global health emergency. The first case of monkeypox was reported in 1958. Where monkeys were kept in a colony for research. In 1970, symptoms of monkeypox were seen in humans for the first time in Congo (DRC). This was the first case to spread to humans. After this, cases of monkeypox were reported in people in other Middle and West African countries. Outside Africa, cases have been found in America, Israel, Singapore. A case was reported for the first time in the UK in 2018.
