New Delhi. The mastermind of the Mumbai 26/11 attacks, Tawwur Rana will soon be brought to India. According to media reports, by this evening or tomorrow morning, the NIA team will bring Tahwwur Rana from America to India. It is being told that as soon as Rana is brought to India, he will be first produced in the NIA Delhi Court. It is also reported that Rana can be kept in Delhi or Mumbai jail for which strict security arrangements have been made in both these jails.
The NI had registered a case against Rana in Delhi, so he will be brought directly to Delhi. After appearing in NIA court here, the NIA team will ask for his remand. Tahwwur Rana has been an active member of Lashkar-e-Taiba. He was a partner of terrorist David Coleman Headley and helped Headley to prepare a Mumbai attacks plan. He sent Headley to India by making fake passports. Tahwwur Rana is originally Pakistani but currently has Canadian citizenship. However, he currently lives in Chicago.
Before the Mumbai attacks, Tahwavur Rana himself came to India. Rana has a doctor in the Pakistani army and has contact in ISI. Rana has been in Los Angeles jail in American for some time. India was constantly demanding Rana’s extradition from America. On the other hand, Rana had also filed an application demanding to stop his extradition in the Supreme Court of America, although his application was rejected by the court. US President Donald Trump recently announced his extradition to India.
