New Delhi. Delhi riots accused and former Aam Aadmi Party councilor Tahir Hussain has filed a petition for interim bail in the Delhi High Court to contest the Delhi Assembly elections. Tahir Hussain is an accused in a case related to the 2020 Delhi riots. Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM has made Tahir Hussain its candidate from Mustafabad seat of Delhi. Justice Neena Bansal Krishna will hear the interim bail application of Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain. Tahir Hussain’s interim bail plea is to be heard on Monday.
Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain has said in his interim bail petition that he should be released from January 14 to February 9. So that he can nominate and campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections. Tahir Hussain has said in his interim bail petition that he has been in jail for 4 years and 9 months. Tahir Hussain has said in the petition that in the Delhi riots case in which he is an accused, only 20 out of 114 witnesses have testified. In such a situation, the case is not going to end soon. Also, it has been said in the petition that the Delhi High Court has already granted bail to the co-accused in the case related to Delhi riots. Let us tell you that Delhi High Court has already canceled an FIR registered against Tahir Hussain.
Tahir Hussain is accused of carrying out attacks from the rooftop of his building during the February 2020 riots in Delhi. Tahir Hussain has also been accused of firing and arson. Delhi riots accused Tahir Hussain’s wife Shama and son Shadab Hussain had met Asaduddin Owaisi. After meeting Tahir Hussain’s wife and son, Owaisi posted its photo on X and wrote that Tahir Hussain has joined AIMIM. He will be a candidate from Mustafabad Assembly seat of Delhi.
