Delhi High Court refused to grant interim bail for campaigning
Tahir Hussain, an accused in the 2020 Delhi riots, is accused of killing IB officer Ankit Sharma. He has two cases registered under UAPA and PMLA. He was a councilor from the Aam Aadmi Party at the time of the riots, but this time AIMIM has given him a ticket.
Earlier, the Delhi High Court had given him a custody parole just to fill the nomination, but refused to grant interim bail for campaigning. After this, Tahir Hussain moved to the Supreme Court. Last week, a bench of two judges could not agree on this, after which the matter was assigned to a bench of three judges.

Important conditions of custody parole
You will be able to stay out from 6 am to 6 pm from 29 January to 3 February. It will be mandatory to return to jail at night. For security and government vehicle expenses, Rs 2,07,428 will have to be paid daily. Advance will have to be paid for two days every time. Will be able to campaign election, but will not comment on the case and will not meet the witnesses. Will not go to his home (E-7) in Karawal Nagar. His acquaintance Usman Ahmed and Crown Plaza will stay at the guest house. Necessary arrangements will also have to be made for the police team.
Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, appearing on behalf of Delhi Police, opposed the parol to Tahir Hussain in the court. He said that this will make a wrong example. However, the judges approved Parol, saying that Tahir Hussain is ready to bear the entire cost of his security himself.
