New Delhi. After the recent important agreement between India and China, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed hope that there will be further progress in the talks. He said that this process may take time, but at present the armies of both the countries have retreated from the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Now the shepherds in this area will have more pastures available for grazing their animals.
“Consensus has been made on the basis of equality and security”
Rajnath Singh informed that continuous talks have been going on between India and China at the diplomatic and military level, the aim of which is to resolve the border dispute. Following recent talks, a broad consensus has been reached to restore the situation on the ground. Patrolling and grazing rights are also included in this consent. The Defense Minister said, “Our effort is that the talks move beyond disengagement, but this will have to wait for some time.”

India wants peace and compromise
Rajnath Singh lauded the efforts of Indian soldiers at the Gajraj Corps headquarters in Tezpur, saying India wants to maintain peace and harmony with its neighbours. Reiterating the words of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, “We can change friends, but not neighbours. Our policy is to maintain good relations with our neighbours.”
He also said that sometimes there is a struggle to protect the borders, but the Government of India is making every possible effort to maintain peace.

Withdrawal of troops from Demchok and Depsang
According to Indian Army sources, following the agreement between India and China, withdrawal of troops from Demchok and Depsang on the LAC in eastern Ladakh has been completed. Patrolling will be started in these areas soon. The Defense Minister’s visit to Tawang was canceled due to bad weather on Wednesday, but he will visit there on Thursday.
