Chennai. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi has alleged that the Constitution and the national anthem were insulted in the state assembly. Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi did not address the Assembly in protest over the issue and returned to Raj Bhavan. The first session of 2025 of the Tamil Nadu Assembly began on Monday. The Governor addresses the first session of the year. In his address, the Governor tells about the achievements and future plans of the government, but Governor RN Ravi expressed his displeasure by raising the issue of insulting the national anthem. It is being told that the state song ‘Tamil Thai Vazhthu’ was sung in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, but the national anthem was not played.

After RN Ravi became the Governor of Tamil Nadu, there has been a continuous clash with MK Stalin’s DMK government. Last year, RN Ravi had refused to read some lines of his address in the Assembly. This time the matter has become more serious due to the allegation of insulting the national anthem. According to the information, Governor RN Ravi asked for the playing of the national anthem after the singing of the state anthem in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, but his request was not heeded. A statement in this regard has been issued by Raj Bhavan. Raj Bhavan says that the country’s Constitution and national anthem were once again insulted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The statement said that in all states the national anthem is sung at the beginning and end of the assembly session. Raj Bhavan has said that when the Governor reached the House, only Tamil Thai Vazhthu was sung.

After the singing of the state anthem of Tamil Nadu, Governor RN Ravi reminded the House of its constitutional duty to play the national anthem, the Raj Bhavan said in a statement. This request of the Governor was rejected by CM MK Stalin and the Speaker of the Assembly. Raj Bhavan has considered this incident in Tamil Nadu Assembly as a matter of serious concern. Raj Bhavan said that the Governor did not want to be a part of the insult to the Constitution of India and the national anthem. For this reason, expressing his displeasure, he did not address the House and returned.
