In 1998, Taslima went back to Bangladesh but the outgoing Sheikh Hasina government did not allow her to stay there. After this she stayed in America and Europe. After this she came to India in 2004. Earlier Taslima used to live in Kolkata but later she started facing opposition in Kolkata also, due to which she had to shift from there to Jaipur. However, after living in Jaipur for some time, Taslima made Delhi her home. Taslima, who has openly expressed her views on atrocities against women and suppressing women in the name of religion in her writings, currently lives in Delhi.
