Tehwavur Rana asked for three things
Tawwur Hussain Rana, a conspirator of 26/11 Mumbai attacks imprisoned in the US jail, has been brought to India through extradition and is constantly questioning the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The NIA also questioned Rana for the second consecutive day to investigate a large conspiracy of a series of terrorist attacks in Mumbai in 2008. He opened many secrets during interrogation. The news agency PTI quoted unknown sources as saying that Tawwur Rana has been placed in a high security cell inside the NIA headquarters at CGO Complex in New Delhi, where security personnel are stationed in his security.
According to the news of Hindustan Times, Tawwur Rana is “being treated like any other arrested person, as well as no special facility.” He had asked for three things in the cell and at his request he has been given a copy of the Quran. In the agency headquarters, he has been seen offering prayers five times daily in his cell.
Rana asked for Quran, pen and paper
An officer described Rana as a “religious person”. “He had sought a copy of the Quran, which we have made available. He has been seen offering prayers five times in his cell,” the official said. Apart from the Quran, Rana also sought pen and paper, which has been made available, although he is being strictly monitored to ensure that he does not use the pen to harm himself. “In addition, he has not demanded any other demand,” the official said.
Rana is constantly being questioned
According to the directions of the court, Rana is allowed to meet a lawyer provided by the Delhi Legal Services Authority (DLSA) every other day and is undergoing medical examination every 48 hours. Another official confirmed, “All procedures like other arrested persons are being followed.” Rana was brought to the NIA headquarters on Friday morning after a Delhi court was detained by a Delhi court after being extradited from the US.
