Telangana Chief Minister A.K. Revanth Reddy said on Tuesday that the state government would interact with the management of Sigachi Industries Limited and ensure a compensation of one crore rupees for the families of people who lost their lives in the explosion at the drug plant in Pashmalaram. He also reprimanded him after the company management was not present there after the accident.
Chief Minister A Revant Reddy along with ministers Sridhar Babu, Damodar Raja Narasimha, G Vivek and P Rishinivas Reddy visited the factory where the explosion occurred. He reviewed the situation with senior officials.
Reddy said that according to the official report, 36 people have lost their lives in the explosion in Sigachi Industries.
He said, “Many people are missing, 56 out of 143 people present during the incident are in touch with officers. Officers are trying to locate the missing people. ”
The Chief Minister said, “The state government will talk to the company management that the families of each deceased will be given compensation of one crore rupees. I have issued orders that compensation of one crore rupees will be given from both the government and the company.
Apart from this, the state government will pay Rs 1 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured, so that immediate and emergency expenses can be borne.
The Chief Minister sought a comprehensive report on the incident, which also knows about similar previous incidents and precautionary steps taken so far.
On Monday, 36 people died and almost the same number of others were injured in a fire in a fire at a plant in Sigachi.
Responding to the Chief Minister’s question, an official of the company said that the founder and executive president of Sigachi was present here on Monday.
Reddy asked the company to formulate an action plan to compensate the victims.
He said with a tough stance, “Such a big accident occurred. He (senior management) should have been here. He should have met the relatives of the deceased. You cannot avoid it. They have to be present here. Ask them to reach. ”
Industry Minister Sridhar Babu said that the company will have to work on humanitarian grounds.
Sridhar Babu said, “Your top management is not present here even after 24 hours. If he is so busy then what is the need to operate the factory? Such a big incident has happened. And our government will take it very seriously. ”
He highlighted that Minister Raja Narasimha and Vivek have been monitoring the situation continuously for the last 24 hours.
Sridhar Babu also told that the director of the factory had given some indications to the company (on issues related to security).
The Sigachi official replied that the company will bear the entire cost of treating the victims.
District Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said, “Many bodies have been recovered under it while removing the debris. 31 bodies have been removed from the debris, while three people died during treatment in the hospital. The final phase of the rescue operation is still going on. ”
