Everyone is aware of the havoc that Corona virus created in the world a few years ago. Any new virus enters the minds of people with the same fear. Now the news of emergence of HMPV virus has scared everyone.
An eight-month-old baby in Bengaluru is suspected to be infected with Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), official sources said.
He said that the case was detected in a private hospital in the city. Sources said that the sample has not yet been tested in the lab (government) and confirmation is awaited.
The Karnataka Health Department had said on January 4 that no case of HMPV had been reported in Karnataka.
At the same time, Delhi health officials issued an advisory on Sunday to ensure preparedness regarding possible health challenges related to ‘Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV)’ and other respiratory infections.
