The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday told the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal not to connect the issue of increasing the amount of ammonia in Yamuna with his allegation to make the river poisonous.
In addition, the Commission gave Kejriwal another opportunity to clarify its allegations against the Haryana government.
Dissatisfied with Kejriwal’s reply, the Commission asked him to give specific and clear answers to the type, quantity, nature and way of poisoning in Yamuna and provide factual evidence.
Kejriwal has been asked to share the details of engineer, location and functioning by 11 am on Friday in the case of finding poison by the employees of Delhi Jal Board. Failure to do so will be free to take appropriate decisions in the case.
Kejriwal responded to the Election Commission notice on Wednesday in which he claimed that the Haryana government is “poisoning” in Yamuna.
He had said that the water received from the state is “highly contaminated and extremely poisonous” in terms of human health.
In response to the 14 pages given to the Election Commission, the former Chief Minister of Delhi had said that if people are allowed to drink such “poisonous water”, it would pose a serious health threat and death of people.
