Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the benefit of research in agriculture sector is necessary to reach the farmers and in case of this, farming will not be a medium of migration, but a medium of prosperity.
The Chief Minister attended the 36th Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh Agricultural Research Council on Tuesday. During this, he observed the exhibition and released the booklets-News letters. Along with this, he also respected agricultural scientists, young talent, FPO etc.
The Chief Minister said in his address, “Agriculture became a medium of migration but a medium of prosperity. This is possible only when we will be able to give the benefit of research done in this field to the farmers. ”
He said, “Uttar Pradesh is a state of nature and the grace of God in terms of farming and agricultural research.”
The Chief Minister expressed concern over the rate of effectively implementing scientific research and research works in farming.
He said, “More than 15 institutions are working for agricultural research in the state. Apart from this, 89 Krishi Vigyan Kendras also provide the benefit of their expertise to the farmers. Despite this, the situation of farmers presents shocking facts. Barely 25 to 30 percent of the farmers of the state are only those who are able to implement scientific research and research work effectively in farming.
He said that even today, the agricultural sector in Uttar Pradesh gives the most employment. About three crore people depend on agriculture.
Adityanath said, “We have to prepare ourselves to increase research and development according to India’s climate and soil. All these possibilities are hidden in Uttar Pradesh. The central government has targeted India to make India a $ 5,000 billion economy. We have also decided that in 2029 we will make Uttar Pradesh an economy of $ 1,000 billion. ”
