The climate of the capital Delhi has once again deteriorated. The air quality of the capital was recorded in the severe category on Sunday, where the 24-hour average air quality index i.e. AQI level was recorded at 409. Officials gave this information.This information has been obtained from the data of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). On Saturday, AQI was recorded at 370, which is ‘very poor’.
PM 2.5 levels reached hazardous levels in the capital on Sunday and 37 out of 39 monitoring stations reported air quality in the ‘severe’ category. AQI levels were recorded as high as 474 in some areas.
Delhi is still under the fourth phase of the ‘Graded Response Action Plan’ (GRAP) which includes stringent anti-pollution measures.
Let us tell you that AQI between zero to 50 is ‘good’, between 51 to 100 is ‘satisfactory’, between 101 to 200 is ‘moderate’, between 201 to 300 is ‘bad’, between 301 to 400 is ‘good’. ‘Very poor’ and between 401 and 500 are considered ‘severe’.
