Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the first multi-model transport hub and smart subway of Patna Junction. The project has been created with the aim of removing the old traffic jam problem in the capital and providing convenient movement to the passengers.
This project, built at a cost of 85 crores, has been prepared by Patna Smart City Limited. This includes modern features such as 440 meter long underground tunnel, three -storey parking, air -conditioned lounge, shopping zone, restaurant, ATM, digital display and sound system.

Parking facility of 32 electric buses on ground floor
Parking of 225 cars on upper floors
Proposed bike parking rotary system
Eight entry and exit gates CCTV, Boom Barrier and Fire Safety System
148 meter long travelator, two lifts, two escalators in smart subway
The most special aspect of the smart subway is that it connects Patna Junction to GPO Golambar, Mahavir Temple and Buddha Smriti Park. Passengers will now get the facility to reach the station directly without facing the congestion of the road.
According to Mohammad Shamsad, CEO of Patna Smart City Limited, the project will be opened to the general public from May 18. It will also be connected to the metro station in the coming time.
Local people and shopkeepers have high expectations from this new system. They believe that this will prove to be helpful in controlling traffic, reducing parking problem and reducing the risk of accidents.
