Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla and three other passengers have now been targeted to launch the Axiom-4 commercial mission on June 19 to carry the International Space Station (ISS). ISRO gave this information on Saturday.
The Axiom Space Mission was to be launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on 11 June, but due to the leakage of fuel in SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket and then due to leakage in the Russian section of ISS.
ISRO said in a statement, “During the coordination meeting between ISRO, Axiom Space and SpaceX, it was confirmed that the leakage of liquid oxygen in the Falcon 9 launch vehicle has been successfully resolved.”
The statement said, “In addition, Axiom Space has informed that it is working closely with NASA to assess the discrepancy related to pressure in the Jewjda service module at the international space station.”
ISRO said, “Axiom Space is now moving ahead with the target of launching the X-04 mission on June 19, 2025.”
Astronauts were originally to be sent to space on 29 May, but SpaceX, who launched the launch rocket and space capsules, postponed it to the first June 8, then 10 June and after 11 June after the leakage of liquid oxygen in Falcon-9 rocket.
NASA’s former astronaut and Human Space Flight Director Paigi Whitson will command the Commercial Mission at the Axiam Space, while ISRO’s astronauts will serve as Shubhanshu Shukla Pilot.
The two astronauts are Slavose Uznansky-Visnivsky of Poland and Tibor Kepu in Hungary. The fourteen -day mission will realize the “return” of the human spacecraft for India, Poland and Hungary.
