The world’s longest ropeway is being built in India
Every year millions of people come from the country and the world in Himachal Pradesh. All the people come here for a walk and fun. In such a situation, there is a huge problem of traffic jam in Himachal. To get rid of this problem, Himachal is going to be the longest ropeway in the world. To further promote tourism in Himachal, the government here is going to build the world’s longest ropeway from Shimla to Parwanoo.
40.73 km long ropeway
According to the Times of India report, the ropeway will be 40.73 km long. The proposed ropeway will connect Shimla to Parwanoo city. The distance between these two by road is about 80 kilometers. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to travel by road from Parwanoo to Shimla falling in Solan district. This time will be left to travel from the ropeway. About 2,000 people will be able to travel every hour from the ropeway.
5,600 crore rupees will be spent
Beautiful mountains and greenery can be seen in traveling from ropeway. People will get rid of traffic jams. This project is in progress. This ropeway will be about 40 kilometers. It will cost Rs 5,600 crore to make it and it will take five years.
People will get relief from traffic jam
Once it is ready, it will boost tourism. People will get rid of traffic jams on the only highway for Shimla. It will be the world’s most distance ropeway system so far.
Work assigned to RTDC
The state government has entrusted the responsibility of this project to Ropeway and Rapid Transport System Development Corporation (RTDC). The selected firm will have to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the ropeway. Also, the commercial space at the stations along the ticket sales and routes will have to be leased so that income can be made.
There will be 11 stations between Shimla and Parwanoo
Electric ropeway will be a more environmentally friendly way to visit Shimla. There will be 11 stations between Shimla and Parwanoo on the ropeway route. According to initial estimates, it can carry 904 passengers per hour in each direction. That is, about 2000 people will be able to travel from both sides. 8–10 passengers will be taken to a ropeway cabin. After the commencement of this ropeway project, Himachal Pradesh will get relief from the jam. Also, the tourism here will get even more than four moons.
