The new Marine Jungle of 7 km is going to be commissioned in Patna. The area next to 1 lakh trees will remain cold.

Patna: Bihar State Path Vikas Nigam Limited (BSRDCL) has taken a big step towards converting JP Ganga Path (Marine Drive) of the capital Patna into a green region. Under the ‘Samagra Parkan Yojana’, beautiful garden, walk, butterfly park and special ‘Mahila Haat’ for women will be developed in 7 km area along the Ganges.

The project will be completed in two phases. In the first phase, development work will be done from Digha to Civilization Gate at a cost of Rs 387 crore. Its nodal agency is BSRDCL.

🌿 Confluence of greenery, walk and education

BSRDCL Managing Director Arun Kumar said that under this project:

A 6 km long walking path will be built, which will run along the Ganges.

Environmentally friendly brick soling cycle track will be made.

About 1 lakh plants and medicinal herbs will be planted.

The traditional eco zone based on butterfly garden and 27 constellations will be prepared.

Butterfly garden will become an educational site for children and nature lovers and promote biodiversity.

👩 Women’s Haat: Women will get permanent platform

In the second phase, ‘Mahila Haat’ will be constructed, where women entrepreneurs across the state will get permanent stalls to sell their products. The Haat will be constructed from eco-friendly materials such as terracotta so that the heat is relieved and the environment is also safe.

🚗 Promotion of parking and tourism

From this project:

Parking of 13,000 two -wheelers and 4,000 four -wheelers will be available.

The entire area will be saved from encroachment.

Environmental protection, pollution control and tourism will be promoted.

The pre-bid of this project was released on May 20 and will be opened on 26 May. On completion of the project, Patna’s Marine Drive will not only look more beautiful, but it will also become an example of green, clean and self -reliant development for the state.
