The West Bengal Police has made a big disclosure in the alleged gang rape of a student at a Law College in Kolkata. Police said that three of the four people arrested in this connection had pre -planned the attack.
Officials of a nine -member Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the incident also found that the three accused Monojo Mishra, Pratim Mukherjee and Zaid Ahmed had a history of sexual harassment of college students. The fourth accused is the security guard of the college.
According to the official, the three used to record such incidents on their mobile phones and later used footage to blackmail the victims.
The police officer said, “The whole matter was pre -planned. The three accused were plotting for several days to persecute the victim.
The Kolkata Police has started searching for a mobile video allegedly shot by the three.
“On Sunday, the houses of accused Mukherjee and Ahmed were searched. We are looking for footage related to this and possibly other incidents related to other incidents,” the official said.
Investigators also said that the video clip of the alleged gang rape of June 25 may have been shared by the accused.
“We are trying to find out if those clips were forwarded or shared in another group. In that case, we have to contact those whom they have received,” the official said.
He said that the SIT has prepared a list of more than 25 people, mostly South Calcutta Law College students, who were present in the educational institution on the evening of June 25.
He said, “All these people will be questioned in connection with the investigation. We have to find out what they saw that evening.”
A student of South Calcutta Law College was allegedly gang -raped by three people in the town’s town area, including an alumnus and two current students of the educational institution.
