Opposition to Shahi Eidgah Committee
The Shahi Idgah Committee had protested against the installation of this idol. The committee claims that this land belongs to the Waqf Board and not to the DDA. However, at present no major controversy has come to light in this matter. The High Court had rejected the committee’s application in this matter and had also reprimanded it.
tight security arrangements
Delhi Police has made tight security arrangements in the entire area to deal with any untoward situation during the installation of the idol. Police have closed all the roads leading to the park and imposed Section 163 there, to ban any kind of demonstration and procession. Two layers of barricading has been done around the park and temporary police camps have also been set up.

This step has been taken because there were protests a few days ago regarding the installation of the statue. However, now the work of installing the statue is in its final stages under the strict surveillance of security forces.
