Investigations were ordered
Students were taken off at an engineering college in Shivamogga district of Karnataka. At the same time, Kalava tied in his hand was removed and thrilled in dustbin. The controversy was hot when some students who went to take the CET exam for the Common Entrance Test in the Engineering College, asking him to take the Kalava worn in their hands and the controversy was heated. The Akhil Karnataka Brahmin Sabha has met the District Collector and demanded action against those who do so. State Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar has investigated the case and assured action against the culprits.
Janeu and Kalava opened at the gate
This incident took place in the Adi Cholechungiri PU College campus of Shivamogga. It was told that three students who came to take CET exam were stopped because they were wearing Janeu and Raksha Sutra in their hands. The guards at the gate opened up Janeu and Raksha Sutra (Kalava), while a student was adamant on not opening Janeu. He was stopped at the gate for 15 minutes. After this, the Raksha Sutra tied in his hands was taken off, but he was given the exam with Janeu.
Seated outside the gate for 15 minutes
The victim student Abhigyan’s maternal uncle said, ‘My nephew for CET went to Chunchaungiri PU College. There the guard asked to take off the Janeu wearing inside the T -shirt and the Raksha Sutra worn in his hands. The nephew refused to do so. The nephew said that even though he does not take the exam, he will not take off. After this, he was seated outside for 15 minutes.
Kalava took out and thrown into dustbin
Along with this, the victim’s maternal uncle said that later he was allowed to take the exam with Janeu but he was taken out of his hands and put him in the dustbin. As soon as he received the information that 2 children were also taken off before my nephew.
People of Brahmin organization protested
After the examination was over, these children told this to their parents. Later, the people of the Brahmin organization reached the gate of the institute and started answering questions from the guards. As soon as the information was received, the police also reached there and the people who were protesting were somehow persuaded and sent from there.
Memorandum submitted to District Magistrate
After this, Akhil Karnataka Brahmin Maha Sangh and other Brahmin organizations submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate. In this memorandum, condemning this attitude of the college management, it was said that action should be taken against those responsible for hurting the sentiments of Brahmins. However, the PU College guard said in a statement to the police that the instructions he had given by the management has only followed it.
Education Minister sought report
Karnataka Higher Education Minister MC Sudhakar has also condemned the incident. MC Sudhakar said, ‘It should not have happened, if it has happened, it is condemnable. I have sought a report from the Executive Director. There are some set protocols for the exam. It is followed by every institution, but there is no talk of getting them off. If this is proved correct in the investigation, then the department will take action against the guilty people.
