Telugu actor Allu Arjun on Tuesday morning met the eight-year-old boy who was seriously injured in the stampede during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’.
The child is being treated in a private hospital. Earlier, Arjun was scheduled to go to the hospital on January 5 but this plan was cancelled.
A stampede like situation broke out during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ at Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theater on December 4 after fans jostled to catch a glimpse of the actor, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman and her eight-year-old son. The one-year-old son was injured.
Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) President Dil Raju was also present during Allu Arjun’s hospital visit on Tuesday. Security was beefed up at the hospital in view of the actor’s visit.
Ramgopalpet police station in-charge had issued a notice to Allu Arjun regarding his proposed visit to the hospital and advised him to keep it confidential so that public order can be maintained in and around the hospital.
The SHO said that the police will make necessary arrangements in view of his visit.
Arjun had earlier said that he was very worried about the boy, who is under constant medical care since the incident. He wished the boy a speedy recovery and said that he wanted to meet him and his family, but was advised not to do so due to legal proceedings.
Following the stampede incident, a case was registered against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theater management at Chikkadpally police station.
Charges were registered under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) based on a complaint by the family of the deceased woman.
Arjun was arrested on December 13 in connection with the case. However, the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail on December 14. Then on January 3 he was granted regular bail by a city court.
