Actor Allu Arjun, accused in the Sandhya theater stampede case, has got relief from Nampally Court. After Arjun’s lawyer requested the court, some of his bail conditions have been relaxed, including the condition of visiting Chikkadpally police station every Sunday.
In a big relief to Allu Arjun, the Nampally Court has exempted him from going to Chikkadpally Police Station every Sunday. His lawyer had sought this exemption citing security concerns. Apart from this, the court has also given him permission to travel abroad. This decision has come at a time when Arjun had to appear at the police station the next day. The actor has appeared before the police once before.
Arjun was arrested by the police on December 13 from his Jubilee Hills home. Nampally Court had sent him on 14 days remand, but the High Court granted him interim bail of 4 weeks. On 14 December, he was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail.
Later, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Telangana Police criticized the actor. On January 3, the Nampally Court granted Arjun regular bail and released him on two sureties of ₹50,000 each. The court had directed him to appear at the police station every Sunday and not to leave the country.
On December 4, Arjun attended the premiere of his new film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ with his family and co-actress Rashmika Mandanna. The event was held at Sandhya Theatre, RTC X Roads, Hyderabad. The presence of the actor attracted a huge crowd of fans, leading to a stampede. A woman died in this accident and her son is admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
On the complaint of the victim’s family, the police arrested Arjun, the theater management and some security staff. The court has also directed that the film’s producers, Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers, will not be arrested during the investigation.
