Studies from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Disease Control Center (NCDC) have established that there is no direct connection between Kovid-19 vaccination and reports of sudden deaths in the country.
According to a press release by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the case of sudden deaths through several agencies in the country has been investigated. It has been clearly established from these studies that there is no direct connection between Kovid-19 vaccination and sudden deaths in the country.
Studies conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Disease Control Center (NCDC) confirm that the vaccines of Kovid-19 are safe and effective in India, and have very little cases of serious side effects. Sudden cardiovascular death can be caused by many factors, including genetics, lifestyle, pre -existing diseases, and post -complications of covid.
According to the release, ICMR and NCDC are working together to understand the causes behind the sudden unexpected deaths, especially in young adults between 18 and 45 years of age. To detect this, two complementary studies were carried out using various research approaches – one is based on previous data and the other is associated with real -time investigation.
The first study conducted by ICMR’s National Institute of Epidemiological (NIE) was “In India, an unexplained sudden death factor in adults in India. A multifunctional matching case-control study.”
The study was conducted from May to August 2023 in 47 tertiary care hospitals in 191 states and union territories. It included individuals who seemed healthy, but suddenly died between October 2021 and March 2023.
Conclusions have decisively shown that Kovid-19 vaccination does not increase the risk of unexplained sudden death in young adults.
The second study, titled “to find out the causes of sudden unexplained deaths in youth”, is currently being done by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi in collaboration with funding and ICMR.
This is a possible study that aims to find out the common causes of sudden deaths in young adults.
The initial analysis of the study data shows that a heart attack, or myocardial infarction (MI), remains a major cause of sudden death in this age group.
The important thing is that no major changes have been seen in the pattern of reasons compared to previous years. In most unexplained death cases, genetic mutations have been identified as a possible cause of these deaths. The press release stated that the final results will be shared after the completion of the study.
Together, both these studies provide more wide understanding of sudden unexplained deaths in young adults in India. It is also discovered that Covid-19 does not increase vaccination risk, while the role of underlying health problems, genetic tendencies, and risky lifestyle options plays a role in unexplained sudden deaths.
Scientists have reiterated that the statements connecting Kovid-19 vaccination with sudden deaths are false and misleading and scientific consensus are not supported by consensus. Claims that speculate without decisive evidence are at risk of public confidence in vaccines, which has played an important role in saving millions of people during epidemic.
Such unfounded reports and claims can increase the hesitation of vaccine in the country, which can adversely affect public health.
The press release states that the Government of India is committed to evidence-based public health research to protect the good of its citizens.
