Today is the last day for withdrawal of names of candidates for Maharashtra Assembly elections, in such a situation all the parties are busy in convincing their rebel leaders who have filed independent nomination against the party. The resentment of some leaders has gone away and they have even withdrawn their names. In this sequence, the first name is that of angry BJP leader Gopal Shetty, who withdrew his nomination as an independent candidate from Borivali assembly seat. Gopal Shetty had filed nomination against BJP’s official candidate Sanjay Upadhyay. Today, after meeting Union Minister Piyush Goyal, Shetty’s resentment went away and he has withdrawn his name.

Gopal Shetty said that there were never any differences with BJP. There were some things related to a particular issue, I think the matter has now reached the right place. Therefore I have decided to withdraw the nomination. Shetty said that there is no need to tell what happened and how it happened, but I would say that the party is supreme, no leader is bigger than the party.
At the same time, Shiv Sena Shinde faction’s rebel Sankivaa Sharma, who had filed her nomination as an independent candidate from Andheri East assembly seat, has also withdrawn her nomination. Encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma’s wife Sankiva was going to contest the elections against Shiv Sena candidate Murji Patel but now she will not contest the elections.
On the other hand, Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil has taken a big decision and announced that he will withdraw the nominations of all his 15 people who had filed for the assembly elections and will not contest the elections for the time being. Earlier, Patil had announced to contest elections on 25 seats, out of which his candidates had filed nomination papers on 15 seats.
