New Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the CBI case related to Delhi’s excise policy. Meanwhile, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has launched a scathing attack on Kejriwal and demanded his resignation. Bansuri Swaraj alleged that Kejriwal is the ‘kingpin’ of this scam and on moral grounds, he should resign from the post of Chief Minister. Bansuri Swaraj also targeted the Indi alliance and said, “Chor-chor mausere bhai, this is their old habit. They try their best to save the corrupt and the rapists.” She said that BJP’s fight against corruption is not an election issue, but a principled one. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement, she said, “Na khaunga, na khane doonga,” and assured that BJP’s fight against corruption will continue.

“Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam”
While levelling serious allegations against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bansuri Swaraj said, “Kejriwal is the kingpin of the liquor scam. His arrest was legal and legitimate, and on moral grounds he should have resigned.” Swaraj also claimed that the investigating agencies have solid evidence against Kejriwal, which proves that he is fully involved in this scam.

“Supreme Court granted bail, but investigation continues”
The MP said that the bail granted by the Supreme Court is a part of a legal process, but it does not prove that Kejriwal is innocent. She said that the ED and CBI are impartial investigation agencies and the investigation being conducted by them is fair. Bansuri Swaraj alleged that Kejriwal is clinging to the Chief Minister’s chair and this is not in the interest of Delhi. She said, “Kejriwal is intoxicated with power, and his stubbornness is harmful for the people of Delhi.”
Supreme Court directives
It is worth noting that on Friday, the Supreme Court granted bail to Arvind Kejriwal on a bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties. Along with this, the court has directed him to avoid any public comment regarding the case.
