Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the nation during his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, greeted him on the beginning of many festivals in the country. The Prime Minister highlighted how such festivals underline unity in the diversity of the country.
Giving best wishes for the upcoming festivals, the Prime Minister said, “These festivals are celebrated in different parts of the country, but they show how unity in India’s diversity is contained, we should keep strengthening this sense of unity.”
PM Modi said, “Today is the Pratipada date of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, Chaitra Navratri is also starting from today, Indian New Year is also starting, Vikram Samvat is also starting. Many of your letters are in front of me, some are from Bihar, some are from Bihar, some are from Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, people have sent different messages in different ways. I want to read some messages in different ways.”
The Prime Minister read him letters written in various languages, including Ugadi, Sansar Padwa, Gudi Padwa, Hindu New Year and other festivals.
He said, “You must have understood that these messages are in different languages, but do you know the reason for this? This is what I want to talk to you. Today and the next few days, the new year is starting in different states across the country, so people have sent me best wishes in different languages.”
Ugadi is this Being Celebrated Today in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. Gudi Padwa is Being Celebrated in Maharashtra.
PM Modi also highlighted how Bisakhi Bihu in Assam, Poila Baisakh in Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir in Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Apart from this, there will be grand ceremonies in different parts of the country from 13-15 April, there is enthusiasm for it. The festival of Eid is also coming, this whole month is full of festivals.”
Speaking about his conversation with the students during the discussion on the exam, PM Modi said, “I talk with the students in the discussion on the exam during the exam, and now the exams are over, and the schools have started preparing for the new session, and the summer holidays are also coming, which the students really wait.”
Recalling his childhood days, the Prime Minister said that while he used to have fun and mischief with his friends during the summer holidays, he also ensured that some creative work was done.
He said, “I remember my childhood days, when I and my friends used to do some mischiefs, but at the same time we used to do something creatively and learn. In the summer, the days are long, children have a lot to do, this is a time to adopt new hobbies and to enhance our skills.”
He highlighted that many science, technology, drama, art programs are being organized by various institutions of the country and encouraged students to enroll in them and share their experiences.
In the Mann Ki Baat program, the Prime Minister said, “Children are not lacking in forums to learn. Some organizations can set up technology camps, where children can learn about the app as well as open source software. Speech and drama schools can also be useful for children. Also, you will have many places to join voluntary activities during these holidays.”
He urged the students to share their experiences with the hashtag #Myholidays, saying, “Summer days are long and children have a lot to do during this time. This is the time to develop their skills as well as to develop a new hobby. During these holidays you also have the opportunity to involve voluntary activities and service efforts. If you are doing, share it with #myholidays. “
The Prime Minister also announced the launch of the calendar “My-Beharat” created for them to make the summer holidays of the students useful.
