The 30 -year -old man was arrested on Saturday for threatening to kill Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta allegedly killing him. Police gave this information.
An official said that after the police refused to help him contact his wife living separately, he threatened this.
He said that accused Shloka Tripathi was arrested in a joint operation conducted by Delhi Police and Ghaziabad (UP) police.
A senior police official said that the accused is being jointly questioned by the Uttar Pradesh Police, Delhi Police, Special Cell and Intelligence Bureau at the Special Staff Office of Delhi Police in North-West Delhi.
Shloka is studying LLB and works as a deed writing in Ghaziabad court. She was married in 2020. However, his wife has been living separately in Delhi since last year, while the person lives in Ghaziabad with his mother and sister.
During interrogation, the person said that his wife had left her in -laws over a dispute with his mother, while the police said that he (wife) probably took the decision because the accused was addicted to alcohol.
The official said, “He wanted to talk to his wife and meet, who is living separately from her due to her alcohol addiction. He also stayed at the de -addiction center for three months last year. ”
The official said that to talk to his wife, the accused called an emergency helpline number 112 in Ghaziabad on Thursday and Friday night.
He told, “At first he did not name the Chief Minister of Delhi. She asked the police to bring her wife back and complained that she was not talking to her. But, when the police did not listen to him, he threatened to kill the Chief Minister.
The officer said that the accused is in depression due to his wife being separated from his wife. He told that he has also been calling an anonymous call to the police.
Ghaziabad Assistant Police Commissioner Ritesh Tripathi said that after a threatening call, the Ghaziabad police informed the Delhi Police and sent a team to Panchwati Colony from where the alleged call was reported. But the caller had run away.
Meanwhile, the police have increased Gupta’s security and tightened it outside his residence in northwest Delhi. The Chief Minister has got the “Z” category security of Delhi Police.
