An all -party delegation and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Thursday expressed disappointment over Columbia’s remarks that expressed condolences to those killed in Pakistan in a counter -attack on 7 May. He insisted that India is only exercising its right to self -defense and there should be a difference between those who attacked.
What did Tharoor say
Addressing the media in Bogota, Tharoor said, “We are a bit disappointed with the reaction of the Colombian government, who expressed his heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives in Pakistan after Indian attacks instead of showing sympathy for terrorism.
He further said, “We are only exercising our right to self-defense, and if there is any misunderstanding on this issue, then we are here to overcome any such misunderstanding. We are very happy to talk to Colombia in detail about the circumstances. As I said, we have very concrete evidence. Resistance Front, which is an unit of Lakshkar-e-Taiba Base in Pakistan’s Morr.”
Tharoor also highlighted how a well -planned funeral was performed for one of the terrorists included in the ban list, which was attended by senior military and police personnel in Pakistan. He said, “This is the extent of connivance between terrorists who commit such crime and funding them, guidance, training, giving arms and equipping them and their training and their other terrible works to continue their terrible tasks.”
He mentioned that the world condemned the attack, but it was “that’s all. No action was taken, not even by the country where these people came out, not by Pakistan.”

An all -party parliamentary delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor reached Colombia on Thursday to express India’s determination to fight all forms of terrorism.
