Tirupati. The issue of using ghee containing animal fat in the laddu prasadam of Lord Venkateswara located in Tirumala of Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh is getting worse. Now even saints and sages have come forward in this matter. Saints of Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad on Tuesday protested outside the office of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board (TTD) which manages the temple of Lord Venkateswara.
During this demonstration, Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad targeted former CM of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy and also made a serious allegation against him of violating the sanctity of Lord Venkateswara. Andhra Pradesh Sadhu Parishad President Swami Srinivasananda Saraswati has alleged that many wrongdoings took place during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s government. Swami Srinivasananda Saraswati alleged that Tirumala area was made a center of business. He said that Jaganmohan Reddy never considered it a pilgrimage site. The Sadhu Parishad President said that Jaganmohan Reddy never respected the sentiments of Hindus.

Andhra Pradesh’s current CM Chandrababu Naidu had recently alleged that during Jaganmohan Reddy’s tenure, ghee containing animal fat was used to make Tirumala’s world famous Laddu Prasadam. A lab report was also released. This report stated that the ghee sample sent by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board was found to contain cow fat, pig fat and fish oil, among other adulterations. After this, there was widespread resentment in the Hindu community. The special thing is that Laddu Prasadam was also sent from Tirupati to the inauguration of Ram temple for distribution. Hindu saints are calling it against the community. Many Hindus are also expressing anger over this incident on social media. At the same time, Jaganmohan Reddy claims that Chandrababu Naidu has accused him due to political rivalry.
