New Delhi. Even before the formation of the government in Jammu and Kashmir, a tussle has started between the National Conference and Congress. National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah is waiting for the letter of support from Congress to stake claim to form the government. For this he told Congress that today i.e. 10th October is the time. Actually, after the assembly election results, a meeting of National Conference Party MLAs was held today. In this meeting, in the presence of party president Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah was unanimously elected leader of the legislature party.

Talking to reporters after being elected the leader of the legislative party, Omar Abdullah said, I thank all the MLAs of my party who have elected me as the leader of the legislative party. Umar said that 4 independent MLAs who won the elections have also given their support to the National Conference. In such a situation, the National Conference has reached the majority mark of 46 seats. He said that talks are going on with the Congress, if we get the support of the Congress then we will immediately go to the Lieutenant Governor and stake claim to form the government. In such a situation, the question is that when both the parties Congress and National Conference contested the elections together, then why is the Congress delaying in giving the letter of support? Somewhere this is an indication that the coordination between the two parties has already deteriorated.
There are also reports that Congress wants two ministerial posts and the post of Deputy Speaker, while the National Conference wants to give only one cabinet ministerial post to Congress. On the other hand, 4 out of 7 independent MLAs have given their support to Omar Abdullah, so even if Congress retreats, there is no danger to Omar Abdullah in forming the government. Omar Abdullah’s party has won 42 seats while ally CPI (M) has one seat.
