Mumbai Uddhav Thackeray, Congress and Sharad Pawar’s NCP have been continuously alleging that Eknath Shinde and his fellow MLAs stole Shiv Sena from them. Jitendra Awhad, a leader close to Sharad Pawar, had even said recently that Eknath Shinde’s group did the pickpocketing. Now the initial trends of Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 are indicating who is the real Shiv Sena in the eyes of the people of Maharashtra? According to these trends, the people of Maharashtra do not seem to consider Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena as genuine.
Counting of votes for Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 is underway. Till the time of writing the news, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena seems to be far ahead of Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. This can prove to be a big blow for Uddhav Thackeray. The people of Maharashtra seem to be completely rejecting the narrative of Uddhav Thackeray and his fellow parties. If this trend changes in the final results, then Uddhav Thackeray and his party may face a major existential crisis. At the same time, Eknath Shinde’s group will be able to proudly say that our claim of being the real Shiv Sena has proved correct. However, it will be decided only by the evening as to whose favor the results will be.
Eknath Shinde had rebelled against Uddhav Thackeray along with 38 MLAs in the year 2022. Eknath Shinde was made the CM with the support of BJP and Uddhav Thackeray had to resign from the post of CM of Maharashtra. The Election Commission had considered Eknath Shinde as the real Shiv Sena and had also given him the election symbol of bow and arrow. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena UBT was given the torch election symbol by the Election Commission. The results of Maharashtra Assembly elections are a big blow for Uddhav Thackeray and his fellow parties because in the Lok Sabha elections, his Mahavikas Aghadi alliance had won more seats, giving a huge blow to Eknath Shinde, BJP and Ajit Pawar’s NCP.
