Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressing the press
Since Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech in Rajya Sabha, the opposition has been continuously demanding an apology from Amit Shah on the issue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said to the Union Home Minister regarding his remarks regarding Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar that the country will not tolerate the insult to the creator of the Constitution. He also said that the Home Minister should apologize. Rahul Gandhi also shared a picture of the opposition’s protest in the Parliament complex. Now all the opposition parties have jumped into this matter and are demanding an apology from Amit Shah. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing the press, targeted Congress a lot and also gave advice to Congress Party National President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Congress presented facts by distorting them
In his address, Amit Shah said that the viewpoint of the party and the opposition in Parliament is different. When discussion takes place in the country’s highest democratic forum like Parliament, one thing is common in it that the discussion should be based on facts and truth. The way the Congress Party has tried to distort facts since yesterday is highly condemnable and I want to condemn it. He said that why this happened was because the speakers of the Bharatiya Janata Party presented the topic before the public with examples along with facts on the Constitution, the values of the Constitution and whenever the Bharatiya Janata Party was in power.
Congress insulted Ambedkar and Savarkar
He further said that on the basis of this it was decided that Congress is an anti-constitutional party, an anti-Baba Saheb Ambedkar party, Congress insulted Veer Savarkar, insulted the judiciary, insulted the martyrs of the army and broke the land of India and invaded foreign countries. The Congress Party had the audacity to give it. When this entire truth was revealed, the Congress Party again tried to spread its views in the society by distorting it. When the discussion was going on in the Parliament, it was proved that Congress strongly opposed Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Despite Baba Saheb’s absence, Congress tried to push Baba Saheb to the margins. The Constituent Assembly had done its work. After this, when elections were held, both the times Congress left no stone unturned to defeat Baba Saheb.
Congress ensured Baba Saheb’s defeat.
Amit Shah further said that Congress ensured the defeat of Baba Saheb by making special efforts. Congress leaders have given Bharat Ratna to themselves. Nehru was awarded Bharat Ratna at the age of 55 and Indira Gandhi at the age of 75. Baba Saheb received Bharat Ratna in 1990 when the Congress party was not in power and there was a BJP coalition government. He even refused to celebrate Baba Saheb’s 100th birth anniversary. Nehru ji’s hatred towards Baba Saheb was well known. He further said that Nehru, the head of the Gandhi family, which has built lakhs of memorials, says that the memorial should be built on Mujeeb’s initiative. Amit Shah said that he was against Ambedkar’s Article 370. As long as Congress was in power, Congress did not allow Baba Saheb’s memorial to be built. BJP government developed the places related to Baba Saheb.
BJP does not insult Baba Saheb
While addressing, Amit Shah further said that on 19 November 2015, Narendra Modi declared 26 November as Constitution Day in the honor of Ambedkar ji. In 2018, PM Modi inaugurated the Dr. Ambedkar Memorial at the site of Mahaparinirvana. He said that my statement was distorted in the Rajya Sabha. The method adopted by Congress in public life was to distort statements and create misconceptions. When elections were going on, my statement was edited using AI and broadcasted across the country. Today my statements for Ambedkar ji were distorted and presented. My entire statement should be placed before the public. I come from that party which can never insult Baba Saheb.
Amit Shah said- We propagated Ambedkar’s principles
He said that whenever BJP was in power, we have propagated the principles of Baba Saheb and BJP has done the work of further strengthening the reservation. We also know the way Congress opposed reservation. The Mandal Commission report came on 31 December 1980. In 1980, Indira ji put the Mandal Commission on the back burner. When the non-Congress government came in 1990, the Mandal Commission report was brought forward. When the Mandal Commission report was implemented, Rajiv Gandhi gave the longest speech of his lifetime to oppose OBC reservation. My entire statement is clearly available in the records of Rajya Sabha.
Amit Shah said this about Mallikarjun Kharge
Amit Shah further said that the entire country is grateful to Baba Saheb. I once again strongly condemn this evil attempt of Congress. The Constitution which was discussed in both the Houses. BJP made every effort to maintain the level of discussion and we insisted that the discussion should have been based on facts, but Congress overruled it. During this, Amit Shah said that Mallikarjun Kharge should not have become a part of this evil attempt of Congress under the pressure of Rahul Gandhi.
