Lucknow. The field is ready for the by-elections of 9 assembly seats of UP. Voting on these 9 seats is to be held on 13 November. According to the latest information, after withdrawal of names of 5 candidates, there will be a contest between 90 candidates on 9 assembly seats of UP. Voters will now decide who will be their representative in the by-elections in Ghaziabad, Khair, Karhal, Meerapur, Kundarki, Phulpur, Sisamau, Majhwan and Katehari assembly seats of UP. There is a contest between the ruling BJP and the main opposition party Samajwadi Party to win these 9 assembly seats of UP. The reputation of both the parties is at stake.
The reason for this is that in the 2022 assembly elections, Samajwadi Party MLAs had won from Karhal, Kundarki, Sisamau, Katehri and Karhal. At the same time, BJP had won 3 seats including Ghaziabad and Phulpur. Meerapur seat was won by RLD. At that time there was an alliance between RLD and Samajwadi Party. Now RLD has joined BJP. Out of the 9 assembly seats of UP for which by-elections are to be held, BJP has fielded its candidates on 8. He has given Meerapur seat to RLD only. Samajwadi Party is challenging BJP and its President Akhilesh Yadav has claimed that his party’s candidates will win all the 9 seats. At the same time, BJP claims that this time the public will teach a lesson to the Samajwadi Party.
CM Yogi Adityanath’s slogan ‘Batenge to Katenge’ is resonating on these 9 assembly seats of UP. At the same time, in an attempt to turn this slogan in its favor, the Samajwadi Party has given it the form of ‘PDA Nahi Bantega’. After voting on 13th November, counting of votes for these 9 assembly seats of UP will take place on 23rd November. Then it will be known whether the ruling BJP succeeded in defeating the Samajwadi Party or whether Akhilesh Yadav’s claim was true. The reason for this is that Samajwadi Party had won 37 seats in UP in the Lok Sabha elections this year. Whereas, BJP could win only 33 seats. In such a situation, Samajwadi Party’s morale is high, but BJP also wants to give a big blow to Akhilesh Yadav by winning most of the seats in the assembly by-elections.
