New Delhi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has increased dearness allowance (DA) by giving gifts to government employees. The state government has decided to increase the inflation allowance by 2 percent. This order will be considered effective from 1 January 2025. About 16 lakh government employees of the state will benefit from this decision. At the same time, about 12 lakh pensioners will also get the benefit. After this order, the dearness allowance for government employees in the state has increased from 53 percent to 55 percent. Recently, the Modi government also increased the DA of central employees by two percent.
The Yogi government had earlier increased the dearness allowance of the state employees on Diwali. At that time, DA was increased by 3 percent. The benefit of this increase in DA was considered effective from employees and pensioners from July 1, 2024. Now once again the Yogi government has taken steps towards giving relief to government employees from inflation. This decision will benefit all state employees, aided education/technical educational institutions regular and full -time employees, working employees and employees working in UGC pay scales.
Government employees will get increased arrears in the month of May. In May, an additional cash load of Rs 193 crore will come on the government in May for payment of dearness allowance with April salary in May and so on arrears. Similarly, the GPF of OPF personnel will deposit Rs 129 crore, after June 2025, there will be an expenditure of 107 crores every month. At the same time, pensioners along with employees are also happy with the increase in dearness allowance by the state government and are appreciating this decision of the government.
