Lucknow. Salaries of 60,000 employees of UP government may be stopped. According to media reports, till now these 60,000 employees of UP government have not given information about their assets to the government. If all these government employees do not give details of their assets to the UP government by 12 midnight on 30 September 2024, then their salaries can be stopped. Yogi Adityanath government of UP had kept August 31 as the last date for giving details of assets. Later, there was a request from the employees to extend the date. After this, the last date for giving property information was fixed as 30 September 2024.
There is no rule to give details of assets only for UP government employees. Employees of Central and other state governments also have to submit details of their assets every year. To prevent corruption in government departments, the government has made it mandatory for employees to give details of assets. Earlier in August, there was a situation of withholding the salaries of 2.44 lakh government employees of UP. After this, after extending the date for giving property information, most of them have given the details to the government. UP government employees have to give information about their assets through Manav Sampada Portal.
There are 846640 government employees in UP. Till August 31, 2024, only 602075 of them had provided information about their assets to the Yogi government. Under property, government employees have to give information about all types of movable property along with immovable property to the government. Apart from themselves, they also have to give information about the property of their family members to the government. The government employee also has to provide proof of these properties. So that the government can see whether the employee has accumulated assets disproportionate to his income. It is believed that the 60,000 employees who have not yet given property information to the UP government will also provide it immediately.
