Now UPI transactions of more than 3 thousand can be charged. The central government is considering this. For this, 0.3% merchant discount rate (MDR) will be re -implemented. If you do transactions of 10 thousand rupees through UPI, then it can be charged for 30 rupees. New rules can be implemented in view of increasing infrastructure and operational expenses of banks and payment service providers. It is reported that new rules may apply in the next two months.
Who will be charged
There will be no MDR on small shopkeepers and small transactions. It will be charged only on big merchants and transactions above Rs 3,000.
