The Amrit bath on the Mauni Amavasya festival of various akharas at the Mahakumbh Mela was concluded till Wednesday evening. An official gave this information. The nectar of the akhadas was averted in the morning due to the incident of stampede near the Sangam area late on Tuesday night and started again in the afternoon after the crowd was controlled.
An official of the fair administration said that this was the first time that saints, Naga monks and akharas broke the pledge of historic first bath in the confluence and in view of the situation, postponed the nectar bath of Brahma Muhurta and gave the devotees an opportunity to bathe first. .
He said that according to tradition, the sannyasi akhadas first took the Amrit bath, including Mahanirvani, Atal, Niranjani, Anand, Juna, Awahana and the saints of the Panch Agni Akharas.
The official said that after this, the saints of Panch Nirvani Ani Akhara of Bairagi sect, Panch Digambar, Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara took the nectar. He said that in the next order, the new indifferent, very indifferent and saintly saints of the Nirmal Akhara took a bath in the next order.
The official said that during the bathing in the afternoon, flower rain was also done on the devotees by helicopter.
One saint told that the sage saints of the akhadas did not show the enthusiasm as before about the amrit bath because all the saints are distressed by the incident of stampede. However, Mahanta, Shrimanta and Peethadhishwar of the Akharas arrived for the Amrit bath with their traditional procession, Dharmadhwaja and Aradhya Dev’s palanquin.
Mahant Ravindra Puri, president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, said on Wednesday morning that in view of the stampede in Mahakumbh, the saints had postponed the nectar of Mauni Amavasya in the morning but will take the amrit bath when the crowd is reduced.
On the second Amrit bathing festival of Mahakumbh, Mauni Amavasya, Shankaracharya Saradari Sharada Peethadhishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Vidhu Shekhar Bharti ji, Dwarka Sharada Peethadhishwar Jagatguru Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati ji and Jyotish Peethadhishwar Shankaracharya Swami Avimukhenand Saraswati Ji took a together bath.
