The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea of Congress MP Rakesh Rathore, accused of sexual exploitation.
A single bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan gave this order after hearing an anticipatory bail plea filed by Congress MP Rakesh Rathore from Sitapur.
The advocate, appearing for the petitioner, told the court that the complainant had filed the case after four years and his client has been falsely implicated in the trial.
The advocate appearing on behalf of the complainant argued that Congress MP Rakesh Rathore is a domineering leader, due to which his client filed the case late.
The advocate of Rathore sought time from the court for surrender, on which the court asked the MP to surrender in the Sessions Court within two weeks.
Rathore had earlier filed an anticipatory bail petition in Sitapur’s session court, which was rejected.
The police registered a case against Rathore on January 17 after a woman’s complaint.
The woman had alleged in her complaint to the police that Rathore has been sexually abusing her for the last four years by pretending to be married.
