Security has been beefed up at the victim’s house in Shahjahanpur district here after the Supreme Court ruled to release Asaram on parole due to health issues. A police officer gave this information on Wednesday.
The victim’s father expressed concern for the safety of his family and expressed surprise at the court order.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Kumar Sagar said on Wednesday that after Asaram got parole, he (Kumar) himself went to the victim’s house and talked to her family.
A police guard is already deployed at the victim’s house. Apart from this, the victim’s father has an armed security guard.
He said that in such a situation, additional security personnel are being deployed and necessary instructions have been given to the concerned police station and area officer for the safety of the victim’s family.
Sagar said that instructions have been given to repair the faulty CCTV cameras in and around the victim’s house and the victim’s father has been asked to inform before going out of the house.
He said that this is a high-profile case and hence we are constantly monitoring the safety of the victim’s family.
At the same time, the victim’s father told that after hearing the news of Asaram getting interim bail (parole), he was shocked and lost his sleep and now he is worried about the safety of his family.
He claimed that when Asaram was in jail, four witnesses, Amrit Prajapati of Rajkot, Akhil Gupta (cook), Rahul Sachan of Lucknow and Kripal Singh of Shahjahanpur, were killed.
The father told that Asaram has filed four false cases against him from jail by his supporters in Jammu, Jodhpur, Delhi and Sursagar.
He told that two witnesses Bholanand and Sureshanand are still missing.
The victim’s father said that the Central Government makes a law in the Parliament that there should be death penalty in case of torture on a minor, but in the case of Asaram, the court is continuously showing mercy.
The Supreme Court has granted bail to Asaram, who is serving a sentence in a sexual exploitation case, till March 31, 2025, due to health reasons.
Asaram had raped a minor resident of Shahjahanpur in the ashram located in Jodhpur in 2013.
The victim’s father had filed a case in Delhi, after which the court sentenced Asaram to life imprisonment, although in this case he has been released on parole.
