Voting for municipal elections in 13 districts of Uttarakhand started on Thursday and till 12 noon, 25.70 percent voting was recorded.
According to official data, till 12 noon, 25.5 percent voting was recorded in Almora, 28.85 percent in Chamoli, 21.39 in Dehradun, 27.77 in Haridwar, 25.8 in Rudraprayag and 24.03 percent in Uttarkashi.
Voting for Uttarakhand local body elections continued on Thursday with people standing in queues outside polling stations in different parts of the state.
Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appealed to the people of Uttarakhand to help all BJP candidates win in the municipal elections in the state.
Referring to the BJP government at the Center and the state, he asked voters to help form a triple engine government.
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami told ANI, “I appeal to all the people of Uttarakhand. You have always stood with the BJP and formed a double engine government. You have made PM Modi the Prime Minister again. I appeal to all of you I appeal that all BJP candidates should win in the state municipal corporation elections and help in forming a triple engine government.”
Dhami said that BJP has fulfilled all its promises and the government is continuously working to make Uttarakhand the best state of India.
Dhami said, “We have fulfilled all the promises and are taking our vision forward. We are continuously working to make Uttarakhand the best state of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.”
Saurabh Thapliyal, BJP’s mayoral candidate from Dehradun, said, “I want to appeal to all the citizens of Dehradun to vote. It is a festival of democracy. No matter who they vote for, everyone should vote.” “
Earlier, Chief Minister Dhami appealed to the people to vote in favor of BJP’s Dehradun Municipal Corporation Mayor candidate Saurabh Thapliyal and all BJP councilor candidates in the upcoming civic elections.
These elections are being held for 11 municipal corporations, 43 municipal councils and 46 nagar panchayats across the state.
