New Delhi. The dates of the panchayat elections to be held in Uttarakhand have been announced. State Election Commissioner Sushil Kumar informed that votes will be cast in two phases for voting for the posts of village head, gram panchayat member, area panchayat member and district panchayat member. The election symbol for the first phase will be allotted on 3 July and voting will be held on 10 July. Similarly, election symbols for the second phase will be allotted on 8 July while voting will be held on July 15. The votes of both phases will be counted together on 19 July.
Nomination papers must have been filed from 25 June to 28 June. The process of checking nomination papers will be completed from June 29 to July 1. The last date for withdrawal of name is 2 July. Along with this, the Model Code of Conduct has also been implemented in the state. The Election Commissioner informed that this time 74,499 village heads, 55,600 gram panchayat members, 2,974 area panchayat members and 358 district panchayat members will be elected across the state in the election.

All preparations related to voting are being done by the Election Commission. Guidelines have been given to the district administration that whatever necessary steps should be taken to conduct fair and transparent elections. The Election Commission has also activated the monitoring mechanism to maintain transparency in the voting process. Along with this, the Election Commission has appealed to the candidates participating in the election to take care of whatever the scheduled date has been decided by the Commission in relation to the process and fill your nomination as per rules so that there is no problem or disruption later.
