Avalanche Uttarakhand: 57 laborers were buried in a fierce avalanche in Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Road construction work was going on in the area where the avalanche took place. This major accident occurred due to the explosion of glacier near the Border Road Organization (BRO) camp at Mana, Chamoli. 10 laborers have been rescued. Efforts are on to send relief and rescue teams on the spot. Due to heavy snowfall, there is difficulty in starting relief and rescue operations.
Injured laborers sent to Mana Army Camp
Police headquarters spokesman IG Nilesh Anand Bharane said that there was a fierce avalanche near the Border Roads Organization (BRO) camp in Border area Mana. 57 laborers got trapped in the grip of this avalanche. 10 of these laborers have been rescued. Due to the critical condition, they have been sent to the army camp near Mana. Meanwhile, Executive Engineer CR Meena of BRO (Border Roads Organization) said that 57 laborers are present on the spot. Three to four ambulances have also been sent, but due to heavy snowfall, the rescue team is facing difficulties in reaching there.
Constant snowfall increased difficulties
Chamoli DM Sandeep Tiwari said that 57 laborers are stranded due to the explosion of glacier ahead of Mana village in Chamoli district. Rescue operation has not started due to bad weather. The area is constantly snowfall. Because of this, the helicopter cannot go there. Where the glacier is torn, it is an area that is a no network zone. Satellite phones are also not working there. There is no contact with the team that has been victim of the accident. Our effort is to rescue everyone. No casualties have been reported so far. The media will be informed when the latest update is received in this regard.

CM Dhami expressed grief over the accident
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed grief over the incident. He wrote on social media X, ‘Many laborers received sad news of suppressing many laborers due to avalanche during the construction work conducted by BRO near Mana village in Chamoli district. Relief and rescue operations are being conducted by ITBP, BRO and other rescue teams. Lord Badri prays to all labor brothers to be safe from Vishal.
The team of this NDRF has also been moved towards the scene. The NDRF team has not been able to reach Mana Camp due to blocked the route due to snowfall ahead of Hanuman Chatti of Badrinath Highway.
