Vande Bharat train left on another route from Diva station.
Mumbai: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal (CSMT)-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express train deviated from its scheduled route. Actually, this train was going to Margao, but due to a technical fault at Diva station in Thane district of Maharashtra, it went on another route. The journey to Goa was delayed by 90 minutes due to the diversion. Instead of heading towards Panvel station on the Diva-Panvel railway route used by Konkan-bound trains, the express train turned towards Kalyan at 6.10 am, officials said. The incident caused delays in Mumbai local train services on the Central Railway.
Vande Bharat train went on another route
Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Swapnil Neela, said that the incident occurred due to a disturbance in the signaling and telecommunication system at point number 103 between the Down Fast Line and the Fifth Line at Diva Junction. Trains from Diva Junction towards Konkan go to Panvel station on regular route. Officials said the train deviated from its scheduled route, after which it reached Kalyan station. It then returned to Diva Junction and then the train resumed its onward journey to Margao on the Diva-Panvel route. Swapnil Neela told that the train was stopped at Diva Junction for about 35 minutes from 6.10 am to 7.45 am, after which the train left towards Kalyan.
The train was brought back to Diva station
Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, Swapnil Neela said, “The train reached platform number six of Kalyan station at around 7.04 pm via the fifth line. It was brought back to Diva station via the sixth line at 7.13 pm.” The CSMT-Madgaon Vande Bharat Express train, launched in June 2023, departs from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal, Mumbai at 5:25 am and reaches Madgaon, Goa at 1:10 pm on the same day. Railway officials said such incidents are very rare on the Mumbai Suburban Automatic Signaling System. (input- agency)
