Ahmedabad. The country’s first Vande Metro train is going to start from today. The first Vande Metro train will run between Ahmedabad and Bhuj in Gujarat. Vande Metro train will run between Ahmedabad and Bhuj at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour. It will have 9 stops. It will leave from Bhuj at 5.05 am and reach Ahmedabad at 10.50 am. Vande Metro train will make two rounds between Ahmedabad and Bhuj. Vande Metro service will be available 6 days a week. This will make it easier for the passengers of Ahmedabad and Bhuj as well as the stations in between to commute for work every day.
The minimum fare of Vande Metro has been kept at Rs 30. If the passengers travelling in it want, they can also get a separate monthly season ticket. With the monthly season ticket, those travelling in Vande Metro will be free from the hassle of buying tickets daily. Vande Metro has been made air-conditioned. Apart from sitting, passengers will also be able to travel standing. Apart from being air-conditioned, many other facilities will also be available in Vande Metro trains. In these, like the metro, information about the station will also be available to the passengers through speakers and screens. The railways intend to run Vande Metro in all the cities of the country in the next few years. About 3000 Vande Metro trains will run between cities. Vande Metro trains will also replace the EMU local trains running till now.
Apart from Vande Metro, Railways is now also launching new Vande Bharat trains for long distance travel. PM Narendra Modi flagged off 6 new Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar in Jharkhand on Sunday. Now he is going to launch 5 new Vande Bharat trains from Ahmedabad. These Vande Bharat trains are for many states. Modi government has also decided to start bullet trains between Ahmedabad and Mumbai by 2026. Work is going on at a fast pace for this.
