New Delhi. There has been a major accident in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A vehicle carrying CRPF personnel went uncontrolled and fell into a ditch about 200 feet deep. Three CRPF personnel were killed and 15 other soldiers were injured in the accident. A contingent of the 187th Battalion soldiers of CRPF was going from Kadwa to Basant, after finishing one of its operations, the army truck crashed and fell into the ditch. The injured soldiers have been admitted to the hospital for treatment, the condition of some is said to be critical.

As soon as the incident came to know about this incident, the police immediately reached the spot and started rescue work. The incident took place around 10.30 am. However, there was no clear information about why this accident occurred, due to the vehicle uncontrolled and fell into the ditch. Investigations are being done to find out the cause of the accident. On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed grief over this incident.

At the same time, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said, I am distressed to hear the news of CRPF vehicle accident. I have just spoken to DC Saloni Rai, who are personally monitoring the situation and giving me information. Rescue operations have been started immediately. Local people have come forward to help voluntarily. All possible help is being ensured.
