Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar
New Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was admitted to the Cardiac Department of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi in the early hours of Sunday. According to hospital sources, their position is stable and is kept under surveillance. The Vice President was admitted to AIIMS after chest pain. According to the doctor, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was brought to AIIMS at around 2:00 am on Sunday after restlessness and chest pain.

Jagdeep Dhankhar is the current Vice President of India. He was sworn in as the 14th Vice President of India on 11 August 2022. He was born on 18 July 1951 in Kalibanga, Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan. He is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party and has also been the Governor of West Bengal, Vice President Dhankhar received his education from Punjab University and later earned a law degree. He is also a lawyer and social worker. In addition, he has also been a member of the Indian Parliament for many years.
Political journey of Jagdeep Dhankhar
Jagdeep Dhankhar played important roles in various parties like Janata Dal, Indian National Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party in his political journey. He represented Jhunjhunu Lok Sabha constituency as a member of the Janata Dal in the 9th Lok Sabha from 1989 to 1991. In 1991, he joined the Indian National Congress and participated in the general election from Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency in the same year, but he lost the election. After this, he served in the 10th assembly as a member of Kishangarh Assembly seat in Rajasthan from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, he contested from Jhunjhunu Lok Sabha constituency, but finished third. Subsequently, in 2003, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party and played an active role in the 2008 assembly elections as a member of the party’s election campaign committee. In 2016, he chaired the department of legal and legislative affairs of BJP. On 20 July 2019, the then President of India Ram Nath Kovind appointed Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Governor of West Bengal. He was sworn in as Governor on 30 July 2019 at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata.
