Ahmedabad. Taking cognizance of the Gujarat High Court itself, it has decided to run a contempt case against senior advocate Bhaskar Tanna. After the video of the case surfaced, this decision has been taken by a bench of Gujarat High Court Justice AS Supehia and Justice RT Vachani. However, the court decided to run a contempt case before such action.
In the video that came on social media, it was shown that on 25 June, advocate Bhaskar Tanna drank beer and spoke on the phone during the court proceedings of Gujarat High Court Justice Sandeep Bhatt. On this, Justice Supehia said that talking on the phone and drinking beer during the hearing is a contempt behavior of lawyer Bhaskar Tanna. The bench described the behavior of lawyer Bhaskar Tanna as disgusting and heinous. The court said that this behavior would have widespread results. If it is ignored, it would be disastrous for the rule of law. Justice Supehia said that the behavior of the lawyer violates the privilege of the senior advocate given to him by the court. The court ordered the lawyer Tanna to issue a notice and said that he would have to appear virtually before the bench. The case will be heard after two weeks. According to the law, taking cognizance of itself is the meaning of a court or other authority to take action by taking initiative on its own without the petition or request of the other party. Earlier, a video of Gujarat High Court went viral on social media in the past. In which a person was seen sitting on the toilet seat during the proceedings.
